Dr. Yasmi O. Crystal – NJ Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Crystal graduated Dental School from UMDNJ, got her Pediatric Dental training from Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, and has a MSc in Clinical and Translational Research from NYUMS CTSI.
Dr. Crystal is a Diplomate (Board Certified Pediatric Dentist) and Examiner of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, and an instructor of pediatric conscious sedation for the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia and Sedation in Dentistry at St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson, NJ. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry Journal and a member and spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where she is also a consultant for the Council on Scientific Affairs. She is a past president of the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry where she has been co-director of continuing education for more than 20 years. In this post, she helps organizing and directing continuing education courses for pediatric dentists and their staff, so they can keep current with the latest techniques, procedures and materials.
Dr. Crystal is a leader in inter-professional relations. She is a member and has worked as Oral Health consultant, speaker and preceptor for the American Academy of Pediatrics. Is currently an Oral Health consultant for the New Jersey Academy of Pediatrics, and has been a faculty member for the Family Practice MD program at Somerset Medical Center, NJ for over 15 years, with her clinical practice being a rotation site for all family practice MD residents.
Dr. Crystal has a strong international presence. She has been on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (representing the US), where she was chair of their Scientific Committee. She is now active in their global education programs and awards. She is the current president of the Pediatric Dentistry Research Scientific Group of the International Association of Dental Research. She is a fellow of the American Society for Dental Esthetics, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. She is active in the American Dental Association (past member of the council of access, prevention, and inter- professional relations, CAPIR), and was a long time reviewer for HSHC/AAPD foundation Access to Care grants program. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry Journal and Revista ALOP, and is a reviewer for many prestigious scientific journals.
Dr. Crystal’s research in the areas of caries prevention and management in young children has been published in numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She lectures to audiences nationally and internationally. She believes all children are entitled to good oral health, so she has volunteered her services at free children dental clinics in Israel, Mexico, Ecuador, and the United States.
Dr. Crystal has three children, Ari, Emil and Lara. Dr. Crystal is fluent is SPANISH, ITALIAN and FRENCH.
Dr. Neha Jiwani – NJ Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Neha Jiwani is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist (Pedodontist) specializing in dentistry for children and adolescents. Dr Jiwani comes from family that is full of medical professionals. She attended New York University College of Dentistry where she graduated top of her class. For her academic achievements, Dr. Jiwani’s was invited to join Omega Kappa Upsilon (OKU) fraternity that honors top students and was a recipient of Colgate outstanding student scholarship. Following dental school, Dr. Jiwani attended Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn NY for her two year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry where she was awarded “Outstanding Resident” award by the hospital & served as chief resident for pediatric department.
Dr. Jiwani has authored numerous publications focusing on oral health care for children. During her free time, Dr. Jiwani enjoys traveling with her husband & daughter. Dr. Jiwani is extremely honored to be a part of the great team at Comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Christopher Lin – NJ Orthodontist
Dr. Christopher Lin grew up in the small town of belle mead, NJ. Upon completion of high school, he attended Rutgers University and completed the accelerated BA/DMD program. During his dental training, he was humbled to receive the Frank E. Frates scholarship award for excellence in patient care. Following dental school, Dr. Lin was accepted in Tufts University’s Orthodontic Specialty program and received a certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. At Tufts, he learned many of the latest techniques in orthodontics. Dr. Lin is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists.
In his spare time, Dr. Lin has volunteered at many Give Kids a Smile Day events and helped out in special needs clinics providing dental care to adults with mental disabilities. When he’s not working with patients or keeping up to date with advancements in orthodontic treatment, you can find him enjoying the outdoors and whipping up the next best thing to eat.
