Dr. Yasmi O. Crystal – NJ Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Crystal graduated Dental School from UMDNJ, got her Pediatric Dental training from Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, and has a MSc in Clinical and Translational Research from NYUMS CTSI.
Dr. Crystal is a Diplomate (Board Certified Pediatric Dentist) and Examiner of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, and an instructor of pediatric conscious sedation for the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia and Sedation in Dentistry at St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson, NJ. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry Journal and a member and spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where she is also a consultant for the Council on Scientific Affairs. She is a past president of the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry where she has been co-director of continuing education for more than 20 years. In this post, she helps organizing and directing continuing education courses for pediatric dentists and their staff, so they can keep current with the latest techniques, procedures and materials.
Dr. Crystal is a leader in inter-professional relations. She is a member and has worked as Oral Health consultant, speaker and preceptor for the American Academy of Pediatrics. Is currently an Oral Health consultant for the New Jersey Academy of Pediatrics, and has been a faculty member for the Family Practice MD program at Somerset Medical Center, NJ for over 15 years, with her clinical practice being a rotation site for all family practice MD residents.
Dr. Crystal has a strong international presence. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (representing the US), where she is active in their global education programs and scientific affairs. She has also acted as USA counselor and is active in the Pediatric Dentistry Research Scientific Group of the International Association of Dental Research. She is a fellow of the American Society for Dental Esthetics, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. She is active in the American Dental Association (past member of the council of access, prevention, and inter- professional relations, CAPIR), and a reviewer for HSHC/AAPD foundation Access to Care grant program.
Dr. Crystal frequently lectures to health care audiences in the US and abroad, and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals in topics of . She believes all children are entitled to good oral health, so she has volunteered her services at free children dental clinics in Israel, Mexico, Ecuador, and the United States.
Dr. Crystal has three children, Ari, Emil and Lara. Dr. Crystal is fluent is SPANISH, ITALIAN and FRENCH.
Dr. Neha Jiwani – NJ Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Neha Jiwani is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist (Pedodontist) specializing in dentistry for children and adolescents. Dr Jiwani comes from family that is full of medical professionals. She attended New York University College of Dentistry where she graduated top of her class. For her academic achievements, Dr. Jiwani’s was invited to join Omega Kappa Upsilon (OKU) fraternity that honors top students and was a recipient of Colgate outstanding student scholarship. Following dental school, Dr. Jiwani attended Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn NY for her two year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry where she was awarded “Outstanding Resident” award by the hospital & served as chief resident for pediatric department.
Dr. Jiwani has authored numerous publications focusing on oral health care for children. During her free time, Dr. Jiwani enjoys traveling with her husband & daughter. Dr. Jiwani is extremely honored to be a part of the great team at Comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Maria Cecilia Duprat – NJ Orthodontist
Dr. Duprat graduated Dental School from New York University, did a one year residency at Montefiore Medical Center, and finished her Orthodontic Postdoctoral Training at UMDNJ with a Masters in Oral Biology. She received the American Association of Orthodontists Student Award and was a faculty member at New York University. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the NJ Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Duprat is married and a mother two children. She is fluent in SPANISH.
Dr. Tamarinda J. Barry Godín – NJ Pediatric Dentist
Tamarinda J. Barry Godín DDS, MPH (formerly Barry Figueroa) is a board-eligible pediatric dental specialist and public health practitioner dedicated to the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive, whole-patient oral health care to children and individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
A Summit, New Jersey native, Dr. Barry Godín graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and English from Bryn Mawr College in 2009, demonstrating an intense desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world. Under the guidance of Burton Edelstein DDS, MPH, and in affiliation with Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and the Children’s Health Project, Dr. Barry Godín engaged in public health policy research with a focus on care to vulnerable patient populations. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014 from New York University College of Dentistry before completing a General Practice Residency at Helen Hayes Hospital, where treatment of people with intellectual and physical disabilities, victims of traumatic brain injury and stroke, and the medically complex comprise greater than 90% of the patient population. Dr. Barry Godín returned to New York University College of Dentistry to complete her post-doctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry, earning her Certificate in 2017. She completed the Accelerated General Public Health Program at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health while serving as Pediatric Primary Care Fellow for Underserved Populations at the College of Dental Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Barry Godín believes that health is a human right, and is committed to promoting oral and general wellness here at home and around the globe, including past and planned clinical engagement with Bellevue Hospital’s Program for Survivors of Torture and New York University College of Dentistry/Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program to New York, Maine, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Cambodia. She is a public health consultant for World of Smiles, Inc. in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a school-based dental sealant and toothbrushing program for K-12 children in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
In private practice, Dr. Barry Godín will be performing all aspects of pediatric dentistry and special patient care. She has received extensive training in behavior management, diagnosis, prevention, and restoration, interceptive/Phase I orthodontics, and oral conscious sedation. She has a particular interest in pediatric dental anxiety and seeks to help families address disparities in dental health literacy through storytelling.
When not in the office, Dr. Barry Godín thoroughly enjoys singing with her husband, dancing, camping, globe-trotting, and spending time with her friends and family. She looks greatly forward to meeting you in person as well as treating your wonderful children!
